Dr. Adamson's dedication to charity and his sense of adventure have lead him on a
total of 7 trips to Central and South America with Kindness in Action.
Kindness in Action was founded in 1993 by Dr. Amil Shapka. Dr. Shapka was a medical
doctor prior to becoming a dentist and serving the community of St. Paul in Northern
Alberta. When a former medical colleague challenged him to come to Honduras to help
with the toothaches they encountered last year, he called upon his staff and fellow
dental classmates to accompany him. After spending 5 grueling days helping Hondurans
who waited in a 5 block long line-up, some who traveled 4 days by foot to reach them,
they saw the need and felt the gratitude of the local people. Kindness in Action
was born.
The organization is now a registered charity and visits 7 different countries, with
over 12 separate dental teams and in 2003 helped 3,648 patients! Dr. Adamson has
